Cassandra Robertson played for one of Second Saturdays first concert, back in 2007. Over six years later, she continues to pour forth an energetic stream of well crafted lyrics, melodies, and accomplished guitar riffs. With “song topics ranging from quantum physics and organic gardening to stories of community activism,” Cassandra’s shares a music that is earthy and intelligent, in a voice clear, smooth, and quite beautiful. Within what she refers to as “acoustic conscious folk music,” Cassandra sings stories about living and loving in harmony, no matter what the obstacles. We agree with Matt Nagle when he wrote about Cassandra in his Tacoma Weekly column some years back: She’s a “genuine troubadour of the highest degree.” Cassandra will be joined by Wynter Burns on bass.
Beneficiary –The Chintimini Wildlife Center (CWC), is a local wildlife rehabilitation facility providing care for an average of over 900 injured and orphaned native wild animals each year – birds of prey, bobcats, skunks, fox and dozens of other native animal species. The ultimate goal is to rehabilitate and release the animals back into their natural habitats, giving them a second chance at life. CWC is open every day of the year for animal admissions and provides these services free of charge to the members of our community. The center offers numerous educational programs that help children and adults learn about wild animal and their importance to our local ecosystems. CWC receives no funds from federal, state, county, or city agencies and is totally dependent on memberships, donations, merchandise sales, grants, fundraisers, and business partnerships to pay for its daily operation. We can help!
